European Union support for replacing old and inefficient heating equipment
The European Union (EU) fund support program for replacing old and inefficient heating equipment in Latvia has been developed to reduce air pollution and improve the efficiency of household heating systems, promoting more environmentally friendly heating solutions.
How to replace the old, inefficient heating boiler with a new one?
To replace outdated heating equipment with new systems and receive EU support for upgrading heating technologies, we invite you to contact one of our branch representatives – by phone or electronically. Our specialist will explain the entire process step by step, provide the necessary information, and help prepare the documents required to receive support.
In residential houses within city areas: Single-family houses – private houses, summer houses, and garden houses Two-family houses – twin houses, row houses, and separate two-apartment houses Three or more apartment houses – multi-apartment buildings with 1–5 floors
For a residential house: The total useful area exceeds 50 m². The building was commissioned at least seven years before the project application date and has been continuously used for at least the last three calendar years. In additional calls, the existing heating system in the residential house must have been supplied by at least 50% with coal, peat, or solid biomass fuel for at least the last three years. If other energy sources are used, then:
• PM 2.5 particle reduction must be at least 0.01 tons per year
• if natural gas is used, switching to pellet heating is not supported
• heating consumption class E or higher
• the required nominal heating capacity does not exceed 50 kilowatts (kW)
The project can be implemented in one or several apartment properties without covering all apartments in the building, if the owners agree and each property within the project is provided with an individual heating solution. It can also be implemented in an undivided property share, provided that it is divided before project completion. At least one person must be declared in each apartment involved in the project by the time of submission. When implemented in all apartments, each may be provided with an individual heating solution – a heat pump or a pellet heating system.
Conditions of the European Regional Development Fund financing:
The amount of funding does not exceed 4400 EUR per inhabitant declared at the household’s address. The maximum project support amount is 31,807 EUR. Support is also available if business activity is conducted in the house. Eligible costs are from April 7, 2023, but the project cannot be completed before the application submission. Only one project can be implemented per house under this measure. If a previous project did not cover all apartments, another project can be implemented to cover the rest.
